1 May 2009 Interdynamics Europe 1 Regulatory Training on retrofitting, refilling and servicing of air conditioning systems used in motor vehicles including taking delivery obligations.

2 May 2009 Interdynamics Europe 2 Training Overview The Retrofitting and Refilling Regulations and Commission Regulation 307/2008 detailing minimum training and certification requirements of personnel RECOVERING fluorinated greenhouse gases. These regulations were designed to regulate SERVICE PROVIDERS they do not prevent the motorist from topping up their own A/C system provided it does NOT involve any recovery activities at any stage.

3 May 2009 Interdynamics Europe 3 Guidance for Service Providers The regulation (EC) no 307/208 of 2 nd April 2008 establishing, pursuant to Regulation(EC842 /2006 minimum requirement for training programmes for personnel recovering fluorinated greenhouse gases. The Interdynamics range is designed for topping up A/C systems that are low on refrigerant due to inadvertent refrigerant loss. The automotive industry recognises that every car will require some level of topping up within 4 years of manufacture. There are no training requirements required to perform a topping up procedure. In an instance where an abnormal leak has been diagnosed with the use of Interdynamics professional gauge the warning on all Interdynamics technical aerosols must be adhered to in full.

4 May 2009 Interdynamics Europe 4 Taking Delivery Obligations. This is set out in Article 5(4) of EC Regulation 842/2006 on certain fluorinated greenhouse gases, the EC F gas Regulation and applies from 4 th July 2009. The exact wording is as follows: “By 4 th July 2009 Member States shall ensure that the companies involved in carrying out the activities provided for in Articles 3 and 4 shall only take delivery of fluorinated greenhouse gasses where their personnel hold the certificates mentioned in paragraph 2 of the Article”. The key here is “companies carrying out the activities provided for in Article3 and 4”. Article 3 relates to “Containment “ in “Stationary Applications” Article 4 deals with “Recovery” including mobile equipment. There are therefore no delivery obligations relating to Interdynamics range as it cannot and must not be used in the activity of recovering fluorinated greenhouse gasses. All guidance has been given in consultation with Defra, Berr and The Department for Transport
