2 Number of Credits You must have a minimum of 23 credits to receive a diploma from Douglas County School System. **11 credits are needed to be promoted to junior status.

3 Required Courses O 4 credits of English O 4 credits of Math O 4 credits of Science O 3 credits of Social Studies (4 courses) O ½ credit Health and ½ credit Personal Fitness O 3 Elective credits from CTAE, Fine Arts or Foreign Language

4 EOC’s O EOCs are required for the following courses…. 1. 9 th Grade Literature 2. American Literature 3. Coordinate Algebra 4. Analytic Geometry 5. Biology 6. Physical Science 7. Us History 8. Economics

5 ASPIRE O Practice ACT O Test will be given Wednesday April 13 O Cost is $22 O See Ms. Bemus to sign up

6 HOPE PROGRAMS— O Scholarship—3.0 in core classes (take off extra points for Honors/AP) calculated at the end of senior year; covers a percentage of the tuition (see website); no money for books or fees. 4 rigor courses are required (see gacollege411.org for updated list) O Zell Miller—3.7 in core classes (take off extra points for Honors/AP), 1200 SAT verbal & math, covers full tuition, calculated at end of senior year; no money for books or fees. O Grant—available for students seeking certificate or diploma at a Technical College; covers percentage of tuition MORE DETAILED INFORMATION AT www.GaCollege411.org

7 CCI O Registration is taking place now. See Mrs. Walker-Harry in the career center. O CCI course offerings are Automotive, Computer Design, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Early Childhood Development, Game Development, Healthcare, HVAC, Pharmacy, Graphic Arts, Video Production, Welding.

8 Move on When Ready (MOWR) O Open to any grade level. O Provide SAT or ACT scores. O Complete the college’s MOWR application by the deadline. O Complete a HOPE grant application online at www.gacollege411.orgwww.gacollege411.org O If approved you will then register for courses with your MOWR college advisor and talk to your counselor here at CHHS. O Complete paperwork for college & high school.
