Overview Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) is the premier academic event for information systems scholars and practitioners in the Asia Pacific region. The conference is a platform that provides a high-quality international forum for scholars, practitioners, and policy makers to exchange ideas about the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) in business and government. Today, more than just adding value to businesses, ICT can help to drive an innovation economy. In conjunction with the conference theme ICT and Innovation Economy, PACIS 2006 would like to invite scholars, practitioners, and policy makers to participate in the conference. Besides going deeper in understanding the conceptual aspects of ICT, this conference will include empirical studies that demonstrate how ICT may impact every aspect on the economy. Specifically, we would like to draw the attention of conference participants to emerging aspects of the economy (e.g., bio-technology, agriculture, and tourism) where ICT can make an impact. Location The conference will be held at the Mandarin Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This hotel is located beside the internationally renowned twin towers. Conference participants can take the opportunity to visit the twin towers and enjoy the bustling city view from the top.
