2  UIdaho is an example of the broader and inclusive term of diversity  Diversity is an essential characteristic of the University  As the state land grant flagship institution, our responsibility is to meet a remarkable diversity of educational, scientific, agricultural and programmatic needs throughout our state  International student population

3  We are located in Indian Country on the ancestral lands of the Nez Perce  We have a school of music called the Lionel Hampton School of Music  We offer certificate programs in Diversity Stratification, Global Justice and Professional Ethics  B.A. in Latin American Studies

4  Minors in:  American Indian Studies  Religious Studies  Women’s Studies  College of Law’s Native Law Program  Graduate programs  STEM Initiatives

5  Wide and inclusive outreach and support services, including:  Indigenous Affairs Officer  Native American Student Center  Women’s Center  Office of Multicultural Affairs  LGBTQA Office  CAMP  Disabled Student Services  Human Rights, Access and Inclusion

6  What does this diversity mean in terms of making learning happen?  Factor in learning styles, gender, cultural communication differences, disability/ability, etc.  Help?  First and foremost, Academic Affairs  Vice Provost for Academic Affairs  Director, General Education  Teaching support, curriculum support, classroom management support, multiculturalism in the curriculum
