It can be a “High five” which is a celebratory ritual in which two people simultaneously raise one hand and then slap these hands together. Also can be a “talk to the hand” which is a palm toward the person insulted. Or can be a “stop” which is a sign to ask people to wait a second, slow down, relax, hold it or stop.
