3. INTRODUCTION What is an embedded system?
IEEE has the following definition for embedded systems: A computer system that is part of a larger system and performs some of the requirements of that system; for example, a computer system used in an aircraft or rapid transit system. (IEEE, 1992).

4. What is security and security system?
The state of being free from danger or threat.
Security system provides a form of protection.
Conventional security system keep houses,
banks, museums and other confidential areas safe from intruders, gas leakage,fire.

5. PURPOSE
The main aim of the project is to design a Remote Security System Based on Wireless Sensor Network using GSM Technology.
It consist of two parts :-
Monitoring.
Controlling action.
It can detect the theft, leaking of raw gas and fire and send alarm message remotely to the user.

8. OPERATION
The ARM processor is connected to PIR sensor, gas sensor and temperature sensor separately.
When the PIR sensor detects a unidentified person or gas sensor detects gas leakage or temperature sensor detects high temperature then a encoded alarm signal is sent to the user‘s mobile phone using the GSM modem.

16. GSM MODEM
The GSM unit contains a GSM module along with a GSM transmitter antenna.
The GSM module that we are using in this unit is the SIMCOM SIM900 module.
SMS is effective because it can transmit short messages within 3 to 5s via the GSM network and doesn't occupy a telephony channel.
