8 ROMANTICISM  ROMANTICISM APPEARED IN CONFLICT WITH ENLIGHTENMENT. ROMANTICISM REFLECTED A CRISIS IN ENLIGHTENMENT THOUGHT ITSELF. THE ROMANTICS WERE CAUTIOUS OG THEIR UNIQUE DESTINY. IN FACT, IT WAS SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS WHICH APPEARS AS ONE OF THE KEY ELEMENTS OF ROMANTICISM.

9 1.)Growth of population, rural to urban migration, or growth cities associated to the industrial revolution. -cities grew exponentionally as the industrial revolution increased the output of resources to build or maintian the city and its citizens. People migrated from a rural environment, to a more urban society to adopt to the industrialization because there were so many resources, cities were able to support bigger families, so the population increased.

10 2.) connection among resources, entreprenuership, labor and capital in an idustry economy.  -the need for natural resources such as caol and iron increased, due to new inventions, such as railroads and trains. People had to get these products from land. And other people had to make them usable like forming iron into train tracks. And all of this supplied jobs during the industrial revolution.

11 Why England industrialized first…….  -small farms covered englands landscape.  -wealthy land owners bought a lot of the farms and dramatically improved farming methods which started the agricultural revolution.  -crop rotation helped farming methods.  -large population of workers and extensive natural resources.  -their natural resources included water power, coal to fuel the new machines, iron are to construct machines, tools, and buildings.  -rivers for inland transportation, and harbors from which merchants set sail.  -Britain had an expanding economy and business people invested in the new inventions.  -growth in overseas trade.

12 chapter summary  section 1.  - industrial revolution referred to the increase output of machines that made goods that began in england in mid 1700’s.  -agricultural revolution paved way for I.R.  -factors of production: resources needed to produce goods and services I.R. required.  -inventing of the steam engine.  -impaving of water and road transportion.

15 section 4  -reforming industrial world with laissez faire economy capitalism.  -rise of socialism.  -Bentham introduced Utilitarianism.  -marxism=cummunism.  -wrote the communist manifesto.  -labor unions and reformed laws.  -reforms spread to many areas of life.
