2 Introduction PowerPoint has some basic shape and word art features that can be used creatively to design your own logo’s and images for use in your webquest Today we will cover the basic skills needed to –Create custom logo’s/images

3 Creating Logo’s/Images

4 Drawing Toolbar To begin creating your own images and logo’s, you will need to open the “drawing” toolbar. To do this click “view” -> “toolbars” -> “drawing” We will be using the auto shapes menu, default shapes and inserting text boxes

5 Replicate To replicate this logo we will need the following tools –Circle tool –Text box –Edit fonts Firstly select the oval tool Then draw a oval shape as across

6 Replicate Now using the “rotate” feature (green node), rotate the object so that it slopes upwards from left to right Right click on the auto shape and select “format Autoshape” Now change the colour to Red

7 Your object should now look like this Replicate To insert text into the object, right click and select “add text” Insert the work “Ask” –Font = Luca Bright –Size = 44 –Font colour = White Ask

8 Replicate Next we need to insert a text box with the “.com” written in To do this select the text box from the “drawing” toolbar Change the font to “Arial rounded” and size to 20 You will now have two separate objects –One image and one text box Align the images similarly to the “Ask” logo Finally you need insert an Auto shape that will form your background You are now ready to merge these into one image Ask. com

9 Grouping Images To select multiple images hold down the shift key Now right click and under “grouping” select “group” Your images will now act as one image To save your image for uploading to your webquest Right click and select “save picture as” –Name your file –Choose jpg as your file type

10 Replicate To replicate this logo we will need the following tools –Rectangle tool –Text box –Edit fonts –Insert Drop Shadow Firstly select the rectangle tool Then draw two rectangle shape as across

11 Now using the “rotate” feature (green node), rotate the objects to match the cartoon network logo Move the objects into position Now change the colour of the left box to black Next right click in each of the boxes and add text –Insert C in the left box –N in the right box –Change text size to 60 –Font to Articulate Extra Bold Replicate C N

12 Now insert a text box with the words “Cartoon Network” –Articulate Extra Bold –Size 17 Inserting Drop Shadow –Select each of the boxes –Use the drop shadow tool to insert shadows –Use shadow settings to further modify the shadow C N CARTOON NETWORK C C N N

13 Finally insert an Auto shape with your background colour e.g. white To move this behind your current objects –Right click –Select “send to back” Then “group” your images as before –Save as jpg Replicate C C N N CARTOON NETWORK
