2 Protect and respect human life Be true to your husband or wife Do not take what belongs to others Do not lie about others Be satisfied with what you have Trust God only Worship God only Use God’s name in ways that honour him Rest on the Sabbath and think about God Respect and obey your parents

3 From the Ram to the Lamb #3 – sacrifice. A substitute –“it will be accepted on your behalf to make atonement for you” (Leviticus 1:4) “Without defect” – Leviticus 1:3, 10; 3:1; 4:3 etc. –the best for God Blood must be shed –“the life is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11) In a particular place –“You must not worship the Lord your God in their way. But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose…… To that place…. bring your …. offerings. (Deut. 12:4-5) The life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. (Leviticus 17:11)

A substitute –“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21) –“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” (1 Peter 3:18) “Without defect” –“with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect” (1 Peter 1:19) –“offered himself unblemished to God” (Hebrews 9:14)

7 From the Ram to the Lamb #3 – sacrifice. Blood must be shed –“He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood” (Hebrews 9:12) In a particular place –Jerusalem, outside the city wall –Heaven itself! (Hebrews 9:24)

8 From the Ram to the Lamb #3 – sacrifice. Jesus’ sacrifice surpasses the Old Testament sacrifices: Jesus is both Priest and sacrifice (Hebrews 7:27) Once for all; eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:12, 26, 28) The veil in the Temple is torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51)

Jesus’ sacrifice surpasses the Old Testament sacrifices: Jesus is both Priest and sacrifice (Hebrews 7:27) Once for all; eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:12, 26, 28) The veil in the Temple is torn in two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51) Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… (Hebrews 10:19)
