6 More information N is the 14 th letter in the English alphabet and it follows M. N is the 6 th most frequent letter used in print, and is the 2 nd most frequent consonant. N abbreviates the Latin word for number (numerous) The symbol n in mathematics traditionally means a number that is indefinite.

7 More information N is pronounced /m/ when it comes before bilabial as input. Double n usually signals a preceding short vowel as in dinner. N is usually silent when it is proceeded by m as in autumn but sounded in derived lexical forms as in autumnal.
