5 VIP Consortium Meeting ● May 12-13, 2016 Factors that supported Team/Program Success Provost initiative for experiential learning Experienced post-doc as program manager Understands faculty research culture/environment, AND Establish a peer relationship with students Very structured startup model (“VIP in a box”) VIP program provides roadmap Seed Teams, 4-6 students (honors program, top students) Subteam Leads Recruiting process Teams can request specific skills, campus wide-recruiting 700 applicants for 310 project positions (180 VIP) Students may apply to as many as they want
