5. Group Norms Treasure each other: we are all part of learning collective. Share your treasure: when speaking, address the whole group. Treasure growth: Interactions are intended to move the collective forward. 5

7. Introductions On a sticky note, jot down a fraction that you could use to introduce yourself to your table. Example: “I make up 1/5 of my family.” “I am 5/8 through my teaching career.” 7

8. Action Use a variety of manipulatives to model the fraction that you used to introduce yourself in as many ways as you can. Model your fraction in at least one way that you wouldn’t normally use. Record each model on a different sticky note. 8

9. It’s Time to Move It, Move It… As you circulate around the room with your sticky note representations, post each on the chart paper with the heading that matches it best. 9

10. Collaboration! In your group, you will be given one of the sheets with a fraction model. Organize your chart paper, clustering like ideas, annotating, and shifting sticky notes to the “Under Construction” page if necessary – noting where they came from. 10
