Exodus 14:10-14 10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the L ORD. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Exodus 14:10-14 CONTINUED 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert! 13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the L ORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The L ORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Exodus 1:6-14 6 Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, 7 but the Israelites were exceedingly fruitful; they multiplied greatly, increased in numbers and became so numerous that the land was filled with them. 8 Then a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing, came to power in Egypt.

Exodus 1:6-14 CONTINUED 9 “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become far too numerous for us. 10 Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.”

Exodus 1:6-14 CONTINUED 11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 12 But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites 13 and worked them ruthlessly. 14 They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly.

Exodus 4:10 10 “Pardon your servant L ORD. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

Exodus 4:11-13 11 “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the L ORD ? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” 13 “But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, L ORD. Please send someone else.”

When you brush off the promptings the Spirit places on your heart, you’re not just saying, “Not yet…” you’re saying, “Not me.”

Exodus 5:22-23 22 “Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me? 23 Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and you have not rescued your people at all?”

Exodus 6:6-7 6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the L ORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.”

The Cup of Sanctification – “I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” The Cup of Deliverance - “I will free you from being slaves to them.” The Cup of Redemption – “I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.” The Cup of Praise – “I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.”

Exodus 14:11-12 11 “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!

Exodus 14:13-14 13 “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the L ORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The L ORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Exodus 14:15-16, 21 15 Then the L ORD said to Moses, 16 “… Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground… (v.21) Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the L ORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dryland. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.”

Exodus 14:29-31 29 “The Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30 That day the L ORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians… 31 And when the Israelites SAW the mighty hand of the L ORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the L ORD and put their TRUST in him and in Moses his servant.”
