1 GPS Update 612 Group activity approval requests processed since the launch of the “interim” GPS activity approval tool on September 3, 2014 -That’s over 120 requests per month! -Thank you all submitting your requests! -A new GPS Requisition Tool expected to launch in March 2015 FY15 is serving as a “transition year,” where we are gaining a better understanding of what Groups are interested in doing Many activities have required review, input and approval by other Sectors and business units of the Society

2 Out of 612 Activity Approval Requests Processed (Sept 3, 2014 – Jan 28, 2015): Vast majority of requests (86%) have been by Sections, followed by Divisions (11%) “Uncategorized” requests include individuals (i.e., not Groups) and test entries

3 Out of 578 Activity Approval Requests: Vast majority of activities (66%) concern dinner meetings, technical tours, and committee meetings 16% of requests concern student activities (support to Student Sections, STEM, competitions, scholarships, or early career programs)

4 Quarterly Highlights Conducted a training event on September 27, 2014 in Houston, TX for volunteer groups located in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Attendance: 105 in-person; 147 via webcast Conducted a training event on October 11, 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey for international volunteer groups located in Europe, the Middle East/Africa, and Asia. Attendance: 26 in-person; 32 via webcast The Group Engagement & Transition Team (GETT) met on October 18, 2014 in New York and on November 16 during the 2014 IMECE in Montreal, Canada GPS staff and GETT members conducted various meetings and conference calls with volunteers and staff of other Sectors and the ASME Foundation regarding the development of “Rules and Pathways of Engagement”
