11 2 Point Response In “A Horse for Mathew”, Matthew and Sundance are alike in how they have lost trust for the opposite species. Matthew was in a serious accident where a horse fell on him. This results in a great fear, and he refuses to go near a horse. Sundance was mistreated and taken to a slaughter house. Because of this, she is deathly afraid of humans. Soon, however, they overcome their fear of one another because they understood that both of them have been mistreated. Matthew addresses their natural understanding when he state, “she took to me right off. Guess I’m the only one who really understood her.”

13 3 Point Response In “A Horse for Matthew,” Matthew and Sundance have the same thing in common. They have experienced both physical and mental pain. Matthew not only suffered from a broken leg, but also received emotional trauma form the accident. “ the removed his cast last week…He won’t even go near a horse now.” Sundance has also been hurt in the past and is going thought the same thing as Matthew. “..someone's mistrusted that little paint. You can’t get close to her.” Together, a friendship with a common bond and understanding can overcome almost anything. “…they came at full gallop…wondered boy and wounded horse.” A friendship bond such as Matthew’s and Sundance’s cannot be broken.”
