9 The Future On 1 April 2013 NHS Improving Quality (NHS IQ) will be established to bring together the wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience of a number of NHS improvement organisations. As a consequence NHS Improvement will close as it currently exists on 31 March 2013. NHS Improving Quality will be hosted by the NHS Commissioning Board and will bring together elements of six current improvement organisations, whilst establishing a new vision and re-shaping the improvement landscape in health and healthcare. The six organisations are: National Cancer Action Team NHS Improvement National Technology Adoption Centre NHS Diabetes and Kidney Care NHS National End of Life Care programme NHS Institute for Innovation and ImprovementNational Cancer Action TeamNHS ImprovementNational Technology Adoption Centre NHS Diabetes and Kidney CareNHS National End of Life Care programmeNHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement When NHS Improvement closes, elements of our programmes will finish on this date, though some are likely to continue within NHS Improving Quality. The priorities for NHS Improving Quality will support both the NHS Outcomes Framework and the work of the NHS Commissioning Board’s five domains: 1. Prevention 2. Long Term Conditions 3. Acute Care 4. Patient Experience 5. Safety NHS Improving Quality will also drive transformational change through the promotion of the NHS Change Model. NHS Change Model
