8 What do historians do? Historians… Look at primary and secondary sources and ask questions.

What do you see, what does it say? What time period is it from? What can it tell us about history?

10 Practice with a primary source!
What do you see, what does it say? What time period is it from? What can it tell us about history?

11 Notebook Setup: Table of Contents (1-50) Number pages (1-50)
Using tape (We do not waste tape!!!)

12 Create a timeline of your life:
Using your 5 events, create an illustrated timeline of your life. Be sure to include at least one picture and one key phrase to explain each event.

14 How can we use timelines to understand history?
Use your timeline to answer the following questions. Explain your answers thoroughly using complete sentences: Pick one event from your timeline. What impact has this event had on your life? What would your life be like if this event had never happened? Pick a different event from your timeline. What caused this event? What were the effects of this event (what happened as a result)?

15 Line up by hair length! WITHOUT TALKING line up by hair length…people with the longest hair in the front, shortest hair in the back! Partner up with the person standing next to you and share your timeline!

What would the title page of an American History book look like?! On the first TWO pages of your history notebook, create a title page with drawings, words, descriptions, etc. with everything you know about American History.
