Sample Configuration Sample Configuration

Inclinometer Driver Setup – Main The Main tab holds the reference to the type of sensor being used, the length of the ladder and the shapes that are used to depict the dredge in the real time display. The Articulating Arm is for a special dredge.

Inclinometer Driver Setup – DQM The DQM option records a data point every X seconds or 5 degrees of heading change. The option to record 5 degrees of heading change is so that the system does not fill up with data on a slow moving dredge and does not miss data on a smaller faster swinging dredge.

Inclinometer Driver Setup The Generic Parser allows the driver to read any incoming string and understand what is coming in on the port. Not all of the information is required. Each item can be dragged up and down the list to match the incoming string.

Swing ladder optional HD25A Swing ladder optional HD25A (Only for cutter suction dredges that have a ladder arm that can swing left-right from the center.) In HYPACK HARDWARE: Click on the HD25A device. Click on the Setup button. Position your ladder in its center position. Enter 0 (zero) in the Angle field Click the angle button. Move the ladder left or right to its full range of motion and return to the 0 (zero) position. Check your calibration. Repeat as necessary.

Screen Capture of Working Cutter-Suction Dredge The top left image shows the Inclinometer with the standardized DREDGEPACK display. The other image is a screen capture of a dredge working with the original profile window.

Calibration of Inclinometer Set cutter tool to water surface and zero out the height of the cutter tool. If the tool and its calibration point cannot touch water, you can put a know offset in for the height Angle calibration is seldom used as it takes an instrument to know angle of ladder relative to the water surface

You dig calculated depth, make sure its correct! The best way to verify if to take a take measure out to your boat and tie off to cutter head. Lower to head to known depth and match up with what HYPACK shows in Data Display Formula Sin of the angle * Ladder Length Check your depth calibration

Measures angle of cutter tool relative to Planned Survey Line (*.LNW) Parent Mobile – Another Vessel Manually set bearing Cut width is a set of predefined angled lines to keep operator within the confines of the digging plan Speed can be expressed in: Feet per Second Feet per Minute Gives the operator a sense on how fast the cutter is moving through the material Typically good dredge managers will have calculated a optimal swing speed given the type of material and the amount of material to be dredged to grade and # of passes SwingInd.dll
