2 What is changing of the chairs? Changing of the Chairs is a dignified ceremony representing the passing of the leadership from the graduating senior class (2016) to the rising senior class (2017). The handing off of the “feather” is the physical representation of this passing of the status. The “feather” symbolizes the physical status as a true Cardinal.

Sophomores will be escorted in by advisors and will sit in one of the two designated areas. Freshmen will sit in designated areas.

Please share these guidelines with your guests.

9 Applause and Acknowledgements for Honorees Polite applause at the end of each category for all honorees is the appropriate way to show congratulations. This allows everyone to hear all recipient names as they are called. Cheering, shouting or catcalling is NOT appropriate behavior in this arena. Please be respectful of each of the honorees just as you would wish everyone to be respectful of you.

10 One last reminder There will be many non Osborne guests at this event. Some have never been to our school before and this will be the first opportunity for them to form their opinion of us. Please remember then that this is a formal and dignified ceremony and behavior and dress is expected to reflect such.
