2 Representation of religious beliefs In 2009, video game developers Ubisoft were criticized for a loading screen which featured in their popular game, Assassin's Creed 2. The loading screen included the following: “This work of fiction was designed, developed and produced by a multicultural team of various religious faiths and beliefs.” Many people took offense to this, as they believed the developers’ religious beliefs had nothing to do with the video game.

3 Race relations act 1976 On the popular reality TV show, Big Brother, one of the contestants, Jade Goody, made a racist remark to another contestant, Shilpa Shetty. Although Jade Goody was at fault for making a racist comment, the legal action was taken against Big Brother for broadcasting the comment.

4 Privacy law In 2004, Model Naomi Campbell won a court case against the Daily Mirror for breach of Privacy Law. The court case came about after the Daily Mirror released a picture of Naomi Campbell leaving a Narcotics Anonymous meeting, and reporting she had a drug addiction.

5 Deformation law, libel and slander. In 2002, Victoria Beckham was tried for slander over publicly accusing shop owners of selling fake autographs of her husband, David Beckham. The shop owners stated after Beckham’s accusations went public, that their sales dropped significantly, resulting in financial loss.
