There are many factors to consider when measuring performance and student achievement in the school system of Puerto Rico. Paying special attention to dropouts in the early stages of formal education. Among the important factors you need to study the impact that unemployment levels have been recorded on the island and the high levels of poverty. Son many students enrolled in schools in the country for one reason or another have to leave their studies. According to UNICEF, a global organization responsible for safeguarding the rights of children, education should be free and is the state who is forced to support that right. A right to an excellent education and aimed at creating citizens capable of being independent and self-sustaining. However, many of these rights are affected by external factors such as unemployment and poverty. Many may say that there is no poverty in Puerto Rico scraping and other global companies. However, although in Puerto Rico the most people is based on government assistance, poverty is existing. This poverty is reflected in the poor family planning where households consist mostly of more than three members, only one of them who is working to support others. The situation is aggravated when the member is unemployed and can not get a job immediately.

7 Puerto-Rico - Unemployment rate The employment and unemployment statistics for December show that the labor force has been in continuous growth since July 2013, representing an increase of 171,000 million to 197,000 million, for an absolute increase of 26 thousand people.

8 Part of creating new jobs and all the strategies that the government should take to remove some unemployment we as citizens must take action, one and the most important is education, we can not allow our children to stop school, we have to fight for our children power to college so we can remove some poverty, whether for professionals have been affected by the crisis, we can say to those who have a college degree. If all population and aim were that at least one resident of each household finishes college would be a huge achievement.
