16. © International Road Transport Union (IRU) 2007 Page 16 NEXT STEPS  Discussions under way with all EU member states to implement the NCTS/TIR project in a large scale effort to meet the upcoming provisions of the EU Customs Code  Similar project is under discussion with the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation regarding Pre-arrival TIR information on the basis of the existing IRU’s Electronic TIR Pre-declaration facility.
