13 Psychology in the Institute of Psychological Sciences Mindfulness in schools Format & Aims 8 week, 1 - 2 hours/ week, between 6-30 pupils, incur a charge, delivered by mindfulness practitioners or by trained teachers. aim to cultivate emotional balance and attention Psycho-educational: the nature of the mind & body. Psychophysiological & experiential :self as laboratory.

Review by Institute for Transcultural Health Studies, European University Viadrina, Frankfurt. up to 2012, 24 experimental studies, over 1,300 students between 6 to 19 years, across different types of schools.

20 Psychology in the Institute of Psychological Sciences Mindfulness in schools Does it work? significant medium effect size (g = 0.40). strongest in cognitive performance. medium sized effects are seen in resilience measures (g = 0.36) and stress measures (g = 0.39), and small for measures emotional problems (g = 0.19) and third-person ratings (g = 0.24). But problems with measures?
