It all began with a tent… in 1959…......

With these words, written by IPA veterans, the IPA official web site, is introducing our jewelry, the IPA houses…. Since then, many sections founded their own IPA House and then a second one, a third etc…

Nowadays, we are proud to have 64 IPA Houses, in 21 countries and 389 other accomodation in 25 countries!!!

It seems that we are growing in "other accommodation". We encourage a trend of expansion in other hosting options and indeed we see that more and more Sections advertise these options. We hope Sections will continue to recommend us (the ISC) as new accommodation becomes available to our members.

Unfortunately, we are in very bad period of world economic crisis and some houses could not afford that….. Recently we were very sorry and disappointed to hear that one of the most beautiful ipa house of the world, the one in Spinea, Italy (near Venice) could not survive and it’s closed. Same with UK,South Africa,Netherlands and Germany…

But, we have one new IPA house, in Brasil, another one in Romania etc….

A thought is to give some money under a form of a loan or maybe take advantage of the house for a period of 1-2 years.

Ipa houses is the vitrin of our association and on the other hand a very strong weapon on our hands to promote and advertise IPA to young police officers and give them a reason to become members, Everybody round the world likes traveling and as we all know the most serious expense is always the accommodation.

IPA houses give to all members cheap accommodation, safe environment, (since all guests in a house are not strange people but colleagues or family members). Of course the guest houses have a really social face, since not few times we host for free persons who need the accommodation for serious personal or family reasons (as nursing in hospitals etc)

The operation method of the IPA Houses is dictated by their international rules. Of course, our target is to encourage the Sections to open even more IPA Houses and go over the rules if it’s necessary!!! Rules are made by us and their aim is to make our life easier……

NOBODY KNOWS BETTER THAN THE IPA - HOUSE MANAGERS!!!! They are the persons coming in touch with all colleagues- visitors, the ones they hear the complains and they face the problems every day, 24 hours 365 days We wish to ask all the IPA House Managers, (each one separate) to give us new ideas how to promote and extend this nice institution

We have two (2)new surveys. These are the particulars needed to update the information guide One for IPA Houses and one for “other accommodation” These are for the Sections who have an IPA House, or afford other accommodation to be filled up, so to help us promote it in a better way !
