2  The most common forgery is a signature What are some other things that are commonly forged?

3 1. Blind Forgery  Made without a model  Forger uses his own handwriting and does not even try to copy the original  Easiest forgery to detect

4 2. Simulated Forgery  One made by copying a genuine signature by carefully drawing it  Forger practice many times before attempting  Very difficult to link to suspect

5 3. Traced Forgery  One made by tracing a genuine signature  Carbon paper, light box, or even pressing hard over an original  Stereomicroscope will reveal that Line quality may be inconsistent

9  Take out a piece of paper and sign your signature  Give this paper to someone sitting near you  Try each of the 3 forgery methods to forge this person’s signature 1.Blind (no practice just do it) 2.Simulated (practice before and take time) 3.Traced (may want to go near windows for more light)  Which method worked the best? Why?
