10. Types of Statistics Descriptive Statistics: - Consists of methods for organizing, displaying, and describing data by using tables, graphs, and summary measures Inferential Statistics: - Methods that use sample results to help make decisions or predictions about a population.

11. Example: A study done in 1980 by Halpern & Coren found that left-handed people’s average age of death was 66; right-handed average age was 75. Descriptive Statistic Statements: - left handed people live to average age of 66 - right handed people live to average age of 75 Inferential Statistic Statement: - Right handers live an average of 9 years longer than left handers - It must stink to be left handed!! Study was found to have errors!!
