10 Dear Mary, My son is 8 years old and my daughter is 10 years old, recently my mother passed away, we are all very sad about this and my daughter will often cry. However, my son does not want to show that he is upset when I can see that he is upset, he will often shrug and say he isn’t and disappear to his room when he is upset is this normal how can I comfort him. Yours sincerely Holly Dear Mary, I have a daughter that is 4 years old. My daughter has just started school and doesn’t seem to need me anymore. When I drop her off at school she doesn’t cry like she used to at nursery, she can now tell me if she is happy or sad so I know she is ok. I am happy that she has settled into school but, I worry that she does not need me anymore. Is this normal? Yours sincerely Amanda
