Bell Work: Math 6/7 – Monday, October 5, 2015 Prepare a piece of paper by folding it into 6ths. Darken each line so there are 6 outlined rectangles per side. Number your paper 1 -12. This will be used for the Unit 2 review today. 1.2. 3.4. 5.6.

Unit 2 Review Rate, ratios & percent

1. Which ratio is equivalent to 5:4 a. ¼ b. 45: 36 c. 35: 24 d. 55: 48

2. What is the unit rate for this ratio: 60 miles in 1 ½ hours a. 40 miles an hour b. 25 miles an hour c. 55 miles an hour d. 35 miles an hour

3. Find 15% of 60. a.10 b.14 c.9 d.12

4) 26 (twenty-six) is 40% of what number? a.56 b.65 c.52 d.68

5. Solve the problem below. Show your work and write the answer in an answer statement. Dean teaches guitar lessons and made 37 dollars in 2 hours this week. Last week he had 7 hours of lessons. How much has he made between this week and last?

6. Solve the problem below. Show your work and write the answer in an answer statement. In the last hour, 50 pizza orders have been placed at Sal’s. 60% of those orders are for delivery. How many of the pizza orders are going to be picked up?

7. Solve the problem below. Show your work and write the answer in an answer statement. Finn bought 12 cookies for $8.40. Gwyn bought 9 cookies for $6.93. Who got a better deal per cookie? What is the difference in price per cookie?

8. Solve the problem below. Show your work and write the answer in an answer statement. If 1 gallon is approximately 3.79 liters, how many liters are equal to 8.5 gallons? Round to the nearest hundredth.

9. The table below shows the cost for various games of bowling. If the relationship stays the same, determine the cost for 1, 2, and 4 games of bowling. Games of BowlingCost 1 2 3$8.40 4

10. Solve the problem below. Show your work and write the answer in an answer statement. The Spider Scrambler ride at the fair has a cart at the end of each arm that holds 3 people. Each ride, with loading and unloading the passengers, takes 7 minutes. 178 people are in line, and the fair closes in one hour. Will everyone in line be able to get on the ride? Justify your answer.

11. Write a fraction with a denominator of 10. Compute your numerator. 0 of 1 – I had no clue 0.25 of 1 – I set up part of the problem, but missed a lot of the “ingredients” 0.5 of 1 – I knew what to do to solve the problem, but may have made math errors. I solved correctly without an answer statement. 0.75 of 1 – I made a simple error (decimal in the wrong spot, basic math error) 1 of 1 – Nailed it.

Answers 1.B 2.A 3.C 4.B 5.$166.50 is the amount of money Dean will earn. 6. 20 of the pizzas ordered are for pick up. 7. Finn got a better deal by $0.07 per cookie. 8. 8.5 gallons are approximately equal to 32.22 liters. 9. One game = $2.80, two games = $5.60, four games = $11.20. 10. Everyone in line can ride the ride. It will take 49 minutes for everyone in line to have a turn on the Spider Scrambler.
