2 Introduction to Asian Culture  Religions- Hinduism, Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam.  Cultural Sub-regions- Central Asia, East Asia, North Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and West Asia.  Ethnic groups adapt to climate zones of Asia.  Primarily Hunter and Gatherers, some are transhumance.  Asian Art, music, cuisine, and literature, are important parts of Asian culture.  One of the most complex parts of Asian culture is the relationship between traditional cultures and the Western World.

3 Health Concepts The greatest challenge for Western healthcare professionals once they’ve grasped the basics of different cultural remedies and treatments is to understand the beliefs and attitudes about sickness that drive these ancient practices. Health beliefs can have a profound impact on the clinical care of Asian patients in the United States, affecting the accuracy of health histories and compliance with treatment recommendations from Western providers.

Behaving in a dignified manner is very important. Some one who openly complains is considered to have poor social skills.
