2 The NASA Space Apps Challenge, NASA’s open innovation incubator program, took place April 22-24 in 179 cities in 71 countries A weekend-long event to engage creative and scientific minds around the world to develop innovative solutions to a series of challenges facing NASA here on Earth and in space.

3 Space Apps began 5 years ago out of Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Previous Global Mainstages have included Houston and New York City. For 2016, Pasadena was selected as the Global Mainstage.

4 NASA Space Apps Women in Data Bootcamp took place on Friday, April 22 nd Designed to bring an even greater diversity of skills and perspectives – particularly from women and girls – to hackathon-type events Bootcamp attendees learned new concepts, strategies and skills from keynote speakers, panelists, and interactive workstations
