2 Background Co-hosted by the University of Puerto Rico and The Government of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. Steering Committee and Planning Committee members based upon individual expertise in HIV and other related fields The Planning Committee has established a framework of five tracks for the conference program

3 Stated Goals Build on the two previous conferences by bringing together all countries of the Caribbean to share, learn, and network. Improve regional responses to HIV/AIDS through the application of knowledge, research, lessons learned, collaboration, and best practices within the Caribbean region.

4 Stated Goals Cont’d Enhance Caribbean regional efforts to work collectively toward preventing the spread of HIV and mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS on the health, social, and economic status of the region. Strengthen research capacity through promotion and dissemination of the latest HIV/AIDS research findings.

5 Conference Tracks Track A: Special Populations Track B: Legal, Ethical, Cultural, Spiritual, and Leadership Issues Track C: Epidemiology, Basic Science, and Vaccine Research Track D: Treatment, Care, and Support Track E: Prevention: Social, Behavioral, and Biomedical Change
