Smithsonville Vet Clinic By: Name redacted

3 Basic Questions “What to Produce?”- I will produce medical care for small and large animals, both in care and house calls. “How to produce?”- Quality care for regular clients, some emergency care, and house visits for farmers. “For Whom to Produce?”- Animal owners and farmers.

4 Factors of Production Land- Office building with a kennel. Labor- 2-3 Vets, 4-5 Vet techs, a receptionist, 4-6 part-time kennel workers Entrepreneurships- Me and a partner Vet investing in our clinic. Human Capital- My skills as a vet as well as my vet techs’ skills. Capital Goods- X-ray machine, refrigerator for medicine, surgery equipment, sterilizing machine, dental equipment, and other lab equipment.

Incentives Employees- Benefits for full time employees, like health insurance. Customers- When people come in their animals get their nails clipped for free.

Subsidized A vet clinic will not be subsidized by the government.

Consumer Sovereignty I am doing two major things to get customers. Mixed Animal Care- I will not limit myself to just small animals but also large animals like cows and pigs. House Calls- House calls are so rare now for after hour vets but I really think that my customers will greatly appreciate the work.

Surpluses or Shortages Surpluses- For my vet clinic the most fearful thing for me to have is not enough customers for what I am producing. Shortages- This would scare me when I couldn’t get the medicine that my patients are demanding.

Demand Factors The major demand factor in my business would be the population. I can’t start the vet clinic in a town of a few hundred people. I have to make sure I have a population to support me. The next important factor would be tastes. This is how much they care about their animal and how important it is to them. That will decide whether I am “fit” to help their little “snuggle- bunny.”
