2. Bat-and-ball games (or safe haven games to avoid confusion with club games such as golf and hockey) are field games played by two opposing teams.
The teams alternate between "batting" roles, sometimes called "in at bat" and "out in the field", or simply in and out. Only the batting team may score, but they have equal chances in both roles. The game is counted rather than timed.
Globally, cricket and baseball are the two most popular games in the family.

3. Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of nine players each who take turns batting and fielding.
The batting team attempts to score runs by hitting a ball that is thrown by the pitcher with a bat swung by the batter, then running counter-clockwise around a series of four bases: first, second, third, and home plate. A run is scored when a player advances around the bases and returns to home plate.

4. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a cricket field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard-long pitch with a wicket, a set of three wooden stumps sited at each end.
One team, designated the batting team, attempts to score as many runs as possible, whilst their opponents field. Each phase of play is called an innings. After either ten batsmen have been dismissed or a set number of overs have been completed, the innings ends and the two teams then swap roles.
The winning team is the one that scores the most runs, including any extras gained, during their period batting.

5. Ball-over-Net Games may refer to any of several sports where a net is a standard part of the game. The term usually applies to sports where the net separates the opponents.
Net sports usually include:[1][2][3]
racquet sports such as tennis, badminton, pickleball and table tennis, but not squash or racquetball
Volleyball
In each of these sports, the ball or bird must go over the net to be in play.

6. Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles).
Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court.
The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball will not gain a point, while the opposite player will.

7. Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side).
Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court.
Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet[1] and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court.
