2 Background March 5, 2013: Marinship 101 to Council May 7, 2013: Council formed Steering Committee to work with staff and consultant August 9, 2013: RFP Released (15 firms)

3 Purpose of the Work Evaluate the Marinship Specific Plan (MSP) using studies already completed on behalf of the City and any new studies as recommended by the MSP Steering Committee to determine to what degree that the MSP is adding to the health of the City and to the degree that is necessary to avoid the negative consequences of doing nothing. Identify areas of the Marinship where improvements can be made to the MSP to add to the health of the City and to avoid the negative consequences of doing nothing. Develop a community engagement plan and a property owner outreach program. Recommend changes to the MSP as required.

4 Background September 9, 2013: Pre-proposal conference (9 firms) September 10, 2013: staff provided an update on the Marinship Specific Plan Steering Committee and the RFP for the work September 23, 2013: 3 firms submitted proposals September 24, 2013: Council appointed Steering Committee October 14, 2013: Steering Committee first meeting October 17, 2013: Steering Committee interviewed consultants
