5. Joining the LRC Always bring your College ID Card with you when you come to the LRC You will need your ID Number to use the computers. If you want to borrow resources we will ask you to fill out a form at the Issue Desk

6. Issue Desk Issue and return books. Book a computer in one of the bookable zones. Book a meeting room. Ask for help.

7. Borrowing Resources You may borrow up to 6 items. HE students may borrow 8 The standard loan is 21 days but there are also 7 day and 1 day loans Books can be renewed providing they are not overdue and have not been reserved by another reader. If you do not bring a book back on time you will be asked to pay a fine. How can you find the item you need ? Click here

9. This is what you do! If the item you want is out on loan you can reserve it. Ask at the Issue Desk or telephone us to make a reservation. If the item you require is not stocked by the LRC we can request it from another library for a small fee. Fill out an Inter Library Loan form at the Desk. 11. Athens Usernames and Passwords Some resources can be accessed without a password in College. Others always need a password and most can be accessed from your home or work using the special Athens password. Pick up an Athens Self-registration sheet from the LRC and follow the instructions.

16. Computer Zones Open access area - no need to book. Pink Zone – this is a Silent Study area and computers must be booked at the Issue Desk Blue Zone – this is a group training area which must be booked by a tutor HE Zone – for students on higher courses.

Using the College Network How to log on Username: ID number on your college card Password: Your date of birth - dd/mm/yyyy Saving your work If you click on “My Computer” you will see an icon labelled with your ID number. 20. Your Responsibilities Keep your mobile switched off or in silent mode and out of sight. Make and receive all calls outside the LRC. Keep noise to a minimum and respect the Silent Areas. Don’t bring food or drink into the LRC. Always carry your student ID Card. For opening times Click here
