9 Localities Pilot Mapping of information on places of employment with a view to targeting Healthy Working Wales activity to ‘businesses’ that most need support. 10 Engaging with employers The team have actively engaged with 437 employers (with 128,000 employees) between April and September 2013 265,000 employees (19% of the working population of Wales) work in an organisation that holds or is working towards a Workplace Health Award Website Ebulletin Masterclasses Toolkits Healthy Working Wales

11 Workboost Wales provides, confidential, practical and free advice to small businesses and organisations in Wales on workplace health and safety, management of sickness absence and return to work issues. Tel:0845 609 6006

12 Workboost outcomes Telephone interview with employers three months after Workboost intervention. Pilot with 12 employers. –9 employers responded, all gave positive feedback –8 reported making changes to practice –1 reported improved knowledge and understanding “We have put most of the actions we discussed into place” “A really useful service specially for new companies – I have recommended it many times” “We are doing a lot more health and wellbeing with staff...our sickness rates have definitely improved” Healthy Working Wales

17 Healthy Working Wales Examples of benefits reported by employers in Wales include: Sickness absence reduced by one-third, saving £2.6 million and providing an additional 130 staff in work each working day (DVLA) Stress levels reduced by between 10% and 15% (Arriva Buses Wales) Staff participation rate of 88% in voluntary lifestyle medicals (Ipsen Biopharm ltd) Sickness reduced by 30%, stress reduced by 66% since introduction of initiatives 3 years ago (Cardiff Met Uni) What are the benefits?
