4 CONSULTATION To oversee and lead the refresh of ‘Its All Going on in Warrington’ Cultural Strategy 2011-2014 Workshops held in November 2014 Opportunities identified in workshops : to ensure ownership of strategy wide and deep and responsibility for delivery sit with partners to ensure strategy articulates value and purpose of art and culture in people’s lives as well as civic life to connect cultural strategy to other evolving strategies

5 OUTCOMES OF THE CONSULTATION Definition of ‘Culture’ The importance of a sub group specifically to recognise and develop our Heritage A Cultural Framework premised on partnership working Additional work to identify our cultural sector Creating a central listing for Warrington’s exhibitions, events and activities Recognition of the role culture plays in improving health and wellbeing.

8 OUR GOALS A THRIVING CULTURAL SCENE A thriving town with a strong heritage where arts and culture sit at the heart of the future development of our people and our place CREATIVE EXCELLENCE AND TALENT Excellence in cultural life in Warrington – a talent incubator and vibrant centre for the creative industry and its people MARKETING WARRINGTON A destination town which offers rich and diverse opportunities for everyone to engage with and enjoy great arts and culture MAXIMISING INVESTMENT Investment in culture is diverse and varied underpinned by strong partnerships and cross sector collaboration PARTICIPATION AND INCLUSION More people from a wider range of backgrounds are involved in cultural activity as audiences and participants CELEBRATING WARRINGTON’S HERITAGE People have the opportunity to learn about Warrington’s heritage and help ensure that official records reflect the diversity of the town and that Warrington is able to create new stories

10 NEXT STEPS  ‘Soft launch’ of framework document to stakeholders in June 2015 and then to the public during Warrington Festival in September 2015  Cultural Partnership Board lead and monitor delivery of framework via the Cultural Strategy Task Group leads  Engage more people in the process  Gather evidence of impact and finally……  Establish Warrington Cultural Partnership and launch of final framework document April 2016
