2 CALIBRATION PROGRESS  The calibration of ALL 6 1471N Run9 modules has been completed successfully. None of the modules have unacceptable offsets!  Procedure for calibration used for all modules: The system ramps every channel up from 0 – 3kV in 50V increments with a timeout of 10.5s each, and from 3 – 4kV in 10V increments with a timeout of 10.5s each. The linear ramp up speed is set to 10V/s.  The detailed analysis of all key voltage for every module will be completed before Run9 Kick-off on Feb. 27 th We may decide to use correction tables at any time until then in order to achieve a precision of approx. 0.01% HBD HV Control & Monitoring System Manuel Proissl Page 2 of 5 Upgrades For Run9 | PHENIX, BNL HBD HV Control System HBD Meeting :: January 19 th, 2009

4 RESISTOR MEASUREMENTS  Every resistor on every divider installed on the HBD has been measured precisely! Procedure: “Take-out” resistors were taken out one by one, then board-mounted ones, measured in nS over a stable timeframe and recorded every 100ms. Average for every second has been plotted used for further calculations. 5 STATUS / UPCOMING  Based on discussion from last week’s meeting, the database structure has been changed accordingly and their corresponding data objects. It allows now to generate custom ramp up tables for every module and individual mesh voltages. Now the system needs to be tested before hooking up the actual detector, which will be done and tested extensively this week.  Since Friday, all 6 1471N Run9 modules have been installed again on the bridge and ALL SHV cables and Trip Detector cables have been hooked up to the mainframe in their final Run9 configuration. Please see spreadsheet (email) for the config information.  Today all cables will be hooked up to the Relay Boards and a low voltage channel test run on the board outputs will be performed.  Furthermore we’ll check if the mainframe (ON) but channels disabled and hooked up to the detector influences the noise on the readout.
