Your analysis So what are the technical and other skills that make up digital literacy for your context? Check the Digital Learning Expectations from EQ for your context – see class blog http://usqmichellewilliams.edublogs.org/http://usqmichellewilliams.edublogs.org/ Compare to the ISTE standards for students. www.iste.orgwww.iste.org What did our twitter stream reveal? Any reflections?

Homework For tut Read the QLD ICT expectations for students (age group specific) Check ISTE standards for selected age group. Bring them to tut. Bring along or know where a collection of photos of your family/friend etc are for workshop For the week Ad for online event in Forum by Monday 26 th or before Read chapters 1-2 and skim 3 of the text. (Should be second reading and so fast) Skim Week 4 ramble for things that fill in gaps for you. Revisit the example ICT idea you investigated in the tut. What would you improve? 19 National examples Log into http://www.ttf.edu.au/http://www.ttf.edu.au/ USQ email to register

First look at national examples Select an example (chosen year level). Work through table of contents. What is the key curriculum idea? What do kids learn? What do kids produce? Would students demonstrate their ICT skills on the profiling grid?

Tpack

Second look at the national example Select same example (chosen year level). What were the explicit demonstrations of the TPACK components? What different pedagogical choices might you make? More TTF discussion next week when you construct an idea with the model.

Strategies from workshops in Indigenous communities Work on authentic project with real and personal images Good product quickly Work on creating effects and results rather than software tips Do by example and encourage better Provide audience for products

Handy software Picasa Photostory 3 Powerpoint

Create a collage or embellish a family photo Use clip art effects Manipulate photos Build layers Select from samples and try to duplicate an effect Ask for a trick to be shown to you Learn 3 new tricks
