4 Steps to Hosting Students 1.Arrange a “Program Orientation” at Employers place of business 2.Prepare an “Employee Orientation” for student interns 3.Develop a “Worksite Learning Agreement and Plan” including learning objectives conducive to student/employer goals 4.Facilitate teacher observations every 30 hours and student/employer evaluations upon program completion

6 For Students - Needs to Include: Site safety procedures and practices Workers' rights and responsibilities Issues related to harassment Employer policies, procedures and expectations Description of the formal accident prevention program of the worksite 2. Employee Orientation

7 “Worksite Learning Agreement & Plan”: Specifies terms of experience Collaborative document Signed contract Includes learning objectives that are: – SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) – New objectives developed once old ones are accomplished 3. Learning Agreement/Plan

8 Teacher evaluates every 30 hrs. and works with “Worksite Supervisor” to modify objectives when needed Host provides ongoing feedback and a final evaluation Student completes a final evaluation 4. Observations/Evaluation
