25 Assessment Pupils sit two exam papers & complete one piece of controlled assessment. Paper One – 2 hours, worth 45%, at the end of Year 11 Paper Two – 1 hour 30, worth 30%, at the end of Year 11 Controlled Assessment (Coursework) – One piece (a 2000 word essay), worth 25%, in Year 10.

26 Bethany Roe GCSE history is hard work and you need to be dedicated to the subject. You need to have an interest for learning new things. It’s a good chance to bond with other people in your year. There’s lots of fun activities – some that are fun and challenging. History is fun and enjoyable.

27 James Forster Only one Controlled assessment, but it’s 8 hours long. Interesting topics and lessons are fun. Lots of group work. Good Belgium trip. Interactive teaching and learning.

28 Ciaran Seal There is a BIG controlled assessment. You get to do fun group tasks. You can also be creative. It’s a must pick!

29 Rachel Masters History is a tough subject and takes a lot of hard work, but I enjoy it. It is challenging, but fun. I think that it is a good option to take.

30 Charlie Wallis It is a difficult subject, but rewarding if you are willing to put in the work towards it.
