12 Project Management : Responsible for the success of the Project. Sets vision, priorities and goals. Ensures objectives are met. Manages time, cost and quality constraints. Project Science Team : Responsible for advising the project on science requirements, science product definition and validation, and science algorithms. Performs analysis to evaluate data quality and publishes results. Supports education and public outreach. System Engineering : Responsible for the design, creation and operation of the end-end PO.DAAC system. User Services : Responsible for the services through which users interact with the PO.DAAC system and staff. Generates and maintains the content that accompany the services. Ensures quality and usability of the services. Markets the PO.DAAC data holdings and services; coordinates education and public outreach. Data Engineering Team : Responsible for the stewardship of the PO.DAAC data holdings. Defines and enforces data format and metadata standards, ensures data and metadata quality and completeness, creates and maintains user guides, responds to user queries, supports education and public outreach. System Operations Team : Responsible for the day-day operations and maintenance of the PO.DAAC system. Includes deployment and test of in-house and third party software, data management operations, and system administration. Core System Development Team : Responsible for creating software solutions that enable data management, search and discovery. Tools & Services Development Team : Responsible for creating software solutions for accessing, manipulating and visualizing PO.DAAC data holdings.
