1 Agenda/Announcements Candy Friday! Will your class qualify? 1.Last day to work on the Timeline of My Life Project HW/ Coming up: Project due Friday- need it printed out, NOT emailed! Test- study- Friday! Study guide due then and any missing work, too! Goal(s): To apply the eight stages of human emotional and social development described by psychologist Erik Erikson to your own lives. 1. Pick up the bell work. 2. Work on the bell work.

A Timeline of Your Life Project- due Friday! Test- study- Friday! Study guide due then and any missing work, too! Goal(s): To be able to list and explain the stages of grief when someone dies. To understand the importance of each stage when it comes to the way we change. 1. Work on the bell work.

5 Old Age 60s and on Erikson’s: … Physical- you are still able to do things! Main question to answer: Look back on life and figure out if it was meaningful or if you regret it!

7 Myth #8 and Myth #9 about Old Age As you read, on a separate piece of paper, summarize the reading. Be sure your name is on this paper. At least five bullet points. 10 minutes. You will share with your partner (they have a different myth)

15 Stages of Death/Grief Read over Adjusting to Death (pg.144- 146) and explain each of the five stages of death/grief in your notes. Be prepared to share with the rest of class.

17 Stages of Grief Comparison Paper On the back of the myth summary you used earlier! Your name on it. Hold on to this once completed. Due at the beginning of class tomorrow! Task: Write a half a page response to the following question (you could do this using bullet points, if you prefer, for each of the five stages): Write about how Kubler-Ross’s stages of dying applies (or DOES NOT apply) to another type of loss in life (such as in sports or a romantic breakup)? Explain and provide examples to back up your claim, outlining each of the five stages! You can read over Adjusting to Death (pg.144-146) to understand each of the stages of death/grief if you want more of an explanation.

18 Extra Time Read the Case Study titled Psychologically Able to Decide? on page 148 and answer questions 1-2 provided at the bottom.

19 Thought of the Day Which of the five stages of grief do you believe to be the hardest one to get out of? Explain why. Use personal experiences and examples, if at all applicable.

Read Chapter 10 by next Friday! Expect a quiz! Goal(s): To assess what you learned throughout this unit. 1.Place on the turn in table: Study Guides- if you wanted to get the extra credit! Your Completed Projects- NO EMAILS! Anything you have a 0 for this unit- drop in the missing work bin now, please! 2. Work on the bell work.

28 Take this time to borrow pencils, separate your desks and move stuff out of you way, while your scantrons are being handed out!

29 Chapters 3, 4, and 5 Test/ Myth #16/ Grumpy Old Men/ Semester Long Project 1.Take out a separate piece of paper and WRITE your name on it. 2.Once you finish the short asnwer part of the test, leave it on the side counter and pick up the scantron and test. 3.Use the BLUE side. 4.Only your name and DATE needed on it! 5.Follow instructions given on the test. 6.No cheating or helping to cheat! That includes using your phone while the test is in front of you. 7.Place separate piles on top of the counter. Once done: 1. Pick up Myth #16 and summarize it (you can use bullet points) on a half sheet of paper- this will be part of your thought of the day, so hold on to this sheet! 2. Then, work on getting at least two more pieces of info added in to your semester long project. The more, the easier the project will be for you!!! Stay quiet until everyone is done. You can listen to music quietly AFTER you’re done with the test.
