2. The Brick School Based Program is managed by Preferred Children’s Services of Brick, NJ and aims to provide comprehensive counseling services and support to adolescents in a non-stigmatizing manner. Our goal is to promote student’s mental and physical well-being and provide them with the skills needed to graduate from school.

We offer individual & group counseling, life skills, employment training, community support, preventive health, crisis intervention, peer leadership, recreation, and referrals.  A range of topics addressed are: School Problems, Depression, ADHD, Drugs, Stress/Anxiety, Grief, Anger/Aggression, Family Conflicts, Relationships, & Child Abuse

4. In addition to our regular school-day counseling & prevention services, we also provide students with the opportunity to participate in supportive & recreational activities through after-school clubs and community outings. Recreation Club Students engage in fun and healthy recreational activities that promote socialization, self-esteem, and relationship building. Gay-Straight Alliance Students promote education, support, and advocacy surrounding issues of understanding and appreciating equality based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Voices Students engage in volunteering opportunities in the community to raise awareness of social needs and become an active member of society. Strong An empowerment group for young women to increase self-respect, confidence, assertiveness, and self-awareness.

5. 2016 Freshmen Summer Transition Program Now Enrolling 3 Days to have fun, make friends, school tours, field trips, workshops, games, build self-confidence + more! Lunch provided— ALL FREE * Reservations are required. Sign-up begins May 1st Choose your dates: Weeks to choose from: July 12-13-14 July 19-20-21 July 26-27-28 August 2-3-4 9:00am—3:00pm

6. Tuesday – School tours of BTHS, team building games & activities, meet key staff, and learn new communication skills. Wednesday – Participate in low and high ropes course challenge to build trust and confidence before entering High School. Thursday – Trip to Jersey Shore locations for canoeing, seining, and cultural learning opportunities.
