FUSED SENTENCES: When two sentences are joined, and a period is needed WRONG: Pinky knew how to fly a kite he was good at it. RIGHT: Pinky knew how to fly a kite. He was good at it. FRAGMENT: an incomplete sentence WRONG: To watch his house being built. (no subject) RIGHT: I watch his house being built. WRONG: The reason that we all left early and went to the store.(missing verb) RIGHT: The reason that we all left early and went to the store was clear.

3 RUN ON: When multiple independent clauses are combined with a FANBOYS (usually, “AND”) WRONG: We ate at the mall, and Betty bought ice cream, and we all had pizza. RIGHT: We ate at the mall.
