Jesus Speaks LITERALLY… John 6:51 – Jesus talks about FOOD – Jesus’ FLESH is the BREAD we must EAT to LIVE John 6:52 – Disciples QUESTION, “How can this be?!” John 6:53 – 59 – Jesus EXPLAINS Himself AGAIN and AGAIN John 6:60 – Disciples QUESTION again, “This saying is hard; who can accept it?!” John 6:61 – 65 – Jesus EXPLAINS Himself AGAIN John 6:66 – Disciples LEAVE and NO longer FOLLOW Him

14. “This saying is hard…” ONLY TIME in SS disciples leave because Jesus’ teaching is TOO HARD. Early Church believed in REAL PRESENCE of Eucharist; until PROTESTANT REFORMATION, all Christians (including Martin Luther) believed in REAL PRESENCE.

15. Yeah, it is! Were Jesus speaking SYMBOLICALLY (like He OFTEN did), the disciples would probably NOT have walked AWAY and CEASED following Him… This saying is DIFFICULT, but it also makes SENSE…
