Demonstrate your understanding that the development of self portraits in Art was dependent on the invention of the mirror. Take photograph using correct techniques as required What you should be able to do:

5 Forced Perspective A seemingly ordinary photo – however, by getting the subject to stand in a different position… Forced perspective is a technique that employs optical illusion to make an object appear farther away, closer, larger or smaller than it actually is. It is used primarily in photography, filmmaking and architecture.

6 Pupils to work in 2’s and 3’s to produce 3 different forced perspective photographs Forced Perspective

7 Camera setting – look for the flower symbol, scene mode, or intelligent auto. Macro mode allows you to get your camera much closer to the subject, often only 25mm away. Consider features of macro photos: lighting, composition, focal point, depth of field (focus, re-compose) background, colour. REMEMBER: No flash, No zoom. Macro Photography

8 Consideration of the environment, habitat When capturing images of plants or small creatures, it is very easy to damage plants etc. in the surrounding environment so you must take care not to step on anything. Photographing The Natural World

9 Aim: to produce a portfolio of shots of the natural world to include plants, flowers, insects/creatures (where possible) Capture a range of images, minimum of 20, then select the 5 best to keep as part of your portfolio Macro Activity
