3 Define Eye Gaze When you use deixis (pointer/index finger), look toward the area you’re pointing to… Eye gaze helps hold that location for the person or thing you’re signing about

6 Closing Signals Use the deixis at the end of a sentence to make it complete Pointing back to yourself at the end of the sentence

Use gestures and signs you do know to explain it as best as you can.

Hard-Of-Hearing: a person can not hear perfectly but is not a part of deaf culture

Similar to I understand; it is used to convey comprehension, sympathy, or concern.

23 What should you do before using an abbreviation or name sign unless you are talking about a large well known city or state? You should first fingerspell the name of the city and then sign the name sign or abbreviation of it.

24 What is a name sign? What does it mean if you have one?
It is a combination of a persons name & a location on the head, torso, or hands where the sign is made. Having one means that you have been accepted by the deaf community by learning asl and the deaf culture. (only a deaf person can give you a name sign!) 

25 What 2 types of name signs are there? What is an example of each one?
1. descriptive- physical/ behavioral trait they’re known for Ex-Katie: k at head for being smart  2. Arbitrary- name with a place on the body. Ex- Sean- s on head.

26 Where do most deaf people live? Why?
Most deaf people live near larger cities so that they can be around other deaf people.

27 Is ASL universal? No, because there is no universal sign language for the deaf.

29 Describe how to make color signs into “bright” colors
To emphasize the depth or brightness, swing the hand forming the color away from you. Sign bigger

30 Love signifies romantic emotions and feelings.
What is the difference between the signs “love” and “love-it” give example sentence of each one. Love signifies romantic emotions and feelings. EX- ME LOVE GO-TO SCHOOL. Love-it shows an emotional or sentimental attachment to a place or thing. Ex-SCHOOL LOVE-IT.
