21 How do we know what grade your son/daughter is working at? We begin by using a Nationally recognised predictor based on students’ GCSE Results. This is converted into a TARGET grade which gives each teacher the grade your son/daughter should be working towards in each subject. Teachers will use their assessments and exam scores to determine how well you son/daughter is working. Every subject has in place an assessment system to determine progress and intervene early if they have concerns. Students will complete four internal assessments each year. They will be given a predicted grade after each assessment. This will be compared against the target grade to determine progress. Intervention will be made if students do not meet expected progress.
