Culture, norms and values Lifelong learners – used to changing jobs and locations, but rapidly adapting and learning They have recipes for success Everything is worthy of an AAR Real value, and incentives to at least try them – Health care – Incentive programs (SEI, fellowships, GI Bill) – Tremendous value in “retirees” with a pension and/or disability compensation

11 Sustaining a Legacy of Service! “I’m Convinced! Now, how do we do it?” Use the VA – yeah right?! If you can afford it, hire a vet to manage your program Build a network: – Career Source – Chambers of Commerce, Military Affairs Councils – LinkedIn Groups – ESGR – State Organizations and County Veteran Councils – Local colleges and universities (USF #5 nationally for vets) – Non-profits and for profits organizations (VFW, American Legion, Team RWB, etc.) – Recruiters (Recruit Military, We Hire Heroes, V2C)
